Lovable Built Them a Template. We Built Them a Business.

BK Pressure Washing website built by WebForCheap

A pressure washing company in the Atlanta area came to us after trying to build their own site with Lovable, the AI app builder. They're two South Forsyth High School students — Blake and Knox — who run BK Pressure Washing on driveways, decks, and concrete around Cumming and Forsyth County. Smart kids. Real business. They did what a lot of people do now: they described their company to an AI builder and let it generate a website.

What they got back looked fine at a glance. It also looked like every other site that tool has ever produced. Stock photo, gradient buttons, icon grids, placeholder reviews that literally said "your review goes here." It was a template wearing their name.

So we rebuilt it. Same two founders, same services, same town — a completely different result. Here's the before, and here's what we made instead.

The "before": a good-looking template

Give Lovable credit: the site it generated isn't broken, and it isn't ugly. The header is tidy, the contact form works, the colors are coordinated.

But look closer and you see the tell. The hero is a generic stock photo of a pool with a blue wash over it — nothing to do with a freshly cleaned driveway. The headline is "Professional Pressure Washing Services," which is to say, nothing. Every section is the same layout: a row of rounded squares with a little icon and two lines of text. The "What our neighbors are saying" section ships three empty review cards that read "Your review goes here — be one of the first." And there's an "Edit with Lovable" badge sitting in the corner of the live site.

It's the uncanny-valley problem with AI builders: they produce something shaped like a website without any of the judgment that makes a website actually sell. A visitor can't tell this business apart from the next one, because the template was never about this business in the first place.

The "after": a site built around their actual story

Here's what we delivered. Same company — but now it looks like a brand, not a starter kit.

We led with a headline that means something: "Bring the curb appeal back." We wrote copy in their voice — deep-cleaned driveways and restored decks "done right by a couple of South Forsyth seniors who actually care how your property looks on Saturday morning." We built the whole thing around the one thing that sells pressure washing: the before and the after.

Same business. Same two founders. The difference is craft.

Real photography beats a stock image every time

Pressure washing is a visual sell. Nobody hires you because of an icon — they hire you because they saw a filthy driveway turn bright in a single photo.

The Lovable version has zero real work shown. Its services are represented by tiny generic icons in identical boxes. Ours is built on actual photography of actual jobs: driveways, pavers, concrete, decks — real surfaces, real results, arranged in a layout that gives the standout shots room to breathe.

An interactive before/after — the whole point of the pitch

The single best feature on the new site doesn't exist on the template at all.

We built an interactive before/after slider right under the hero — "Drag to see what a Saturday morning can do." You grab the handle and wipe a grimy driveway clean with your own cursor. That one element does more selling than a page of adjectives, and it's exactly the kind of thing a generic builder will never think to add, because it requires understanding what this specific business needs to prove.

A brand identity, not a default theme

You can spot an AI-generated site by its palette, and the Lovable build is textbook: the same teal-to-green gradient on the logo, the buttons, the cards, the CTA — the default look thousands of other generated sites share.

We gave BK Pressure Washing a real identity: a deep navy and electric-cyan scheme, confident typography, a floating quote card with a "free on-site quote — usually same day" badge, a scrolling ribbon of services. It's distinctive. It's theirs. Nobody else's site looks like it, which is the entire point of having one.

Copy with a personality, not filler

The template states facts. Our site tells a story.

We gave the founders a section of their own — "Two seniors. One very serious side business." — that explains who Blake and Knox are, why they started, and why they sweat the details, closing on a line in their own words: "We're young, but we take this seriously — your satisfaction is what keeps us going." That's trust you can't generate from a prompt. It's the difference between a site that lists services and a site that makes you want to call.

And notice what's not there: no placeholder reviews, no "your review goes here," no leftover builder badge. We don't ship filler on a client's live site.

Structure that guides a visitor to "call"

The Lovable page repeats one idea — rows of identical icon cards — until it ends in a contact form. Ours is composed: a hero with a clear promise, a stats bar (24-hour quotes, eco-friendly equipment, zero hidden fees), the interactive proof, a services grid, the founders' story, a dead-simple four-step "how it works," and a closing call to action that gives you a phone number, hours, and service area. Every section has a job, and they add up to one thing: get the visitor to reach out.

This is what "AI-first" should actually mean

We're not anti-AI. We're an AI-first agency — we use these tools every day, and they're a huge part of how we keep prices low. But there's a difference between letting AI generate a website and using AI, plus twenty years of real web experience, to design and build one.

Tools like Lovable are great for a quick prototype or an internal app. For the website your customers judge you by, "good enough and generic" costs you the job to the competitor who looked like they cared. BK Pressure Washing didn't need a template with their name on it. They needed a site that looks like the business they're actually building.

That's what we do — beautiful, custom, conversion-focused websites, at a price that doesn't require an agency budget. If your current site looks like it came out of a builder, let's talk about what it could look like instead.
